Chloe will be 15 months on Monday! Since we started her sign language class last Saturday, she is very receptive to picking up new signs this week. I have been using signs with her ever since she about 3 months old, but we thought now would be a perfect time to take a formal sign language class. This is the age where we went to start eliminating frustration from not being able to fully communicate her needs, so sign language is a perfect way to cut down on the tantrums. We taught her the sign for "thank you" and she signs and says "thank you" at the same time. We taught her the sign for clean up, and she goes and cleans up all of her books and puts them away in her basket when we ask her. She also signed "dog" on her own this week when she saw a dog at the park, which I taught her awhile ago. It is so exciting to watch her using the signs that we teach her. She still uses her basic signs for eat, milk, and more every day.She also plays more independently during the day. Meal time was particularly challenging in the past because she wanted to be attached at my hip, but she really loves to sit and look at all of her books or play with toys. She loves to flip through the books and point at all of the objects she knows. She knows a lot of words(at least 30-50) now and is able to identify them when I ask her in a picture or she makes the animal sound if it is an animal. She points at things to get me to name them. She also loves to help me clean-she helps me switch the laundry, helping me sweep, she pretends to vacuum (with her play vacuum), and wiping up messes. Now if only her play vacuum really worked, think how much time that would save me cleaning! I feel like I am constantly picking up after her:)
Other than that, a very busy week for us- classes, Sea World (first picture), back to mommy exercise class, we went to the Pumpkin Patch Thursday (here are a few pictures), but finally I got to relax tonight at a baby shower for Nicole at the spa!

Wow - I am remembering when we took Chloe to the pumpkin patch a year ago, and how small she was. She has so many teeth now and such a beautiful smile!
Chloe is a smart little girl. After all, she has a smart mommy and daddy!
