21 months and 2 weeks (April 24, 2009)

We are finally settled in at home this week. Chloe started a new finger painting class through the Rec Center. She loves it because she gets to use the easel. She also really missed her cat Caro while we were away. She likes to pet her and give her kisses. We took a field trip to the Chula Vista Nature Center with some friends to see the fish, sharks, stingrays, and birds. The kids had a great time!

Chloe went poopy on the potty this week and was very proud of herself! She still loves to sing songs and I am amazed at how well she knows the complete song. Her favorites are Happy Birthday, ABC song, Twinkle, Twinkle, Itsy Bitsy Spider, No more monkeys jumping on the bed, Colors of the Rainbow, Frère Jacques, The Night Night Song, and many others. She never stops talking either. She sits with her doll house and the people and makes up stories about what is going on. It is so cute to watch her talk to herself. Also, her new thing that she started recently is asking "Why?" all the time. I am still thankful for her 3 hour naps each day to get a little break:)

21 months (Friday April 17, 2009)

Our flight to NY was a little rough for me and Chloe. She did not take a nap the entire ride there and to top it off United broke my stroller and lost my luggage for a day. I got to spend a few days getting Chloe adjusted in NY with her grandparents. We met the Easter Bunny, went to an egg hunt, and dyed eggs. Matt and I left on Easter morning for Puerto Rico for the week! We had such a great time relaxing, hiking in the rain forest, swimming in the ocean, and hanging out with friends. I spent a few more days in NY in then flew back to San Diego. Chloe was a little better on the plane on the way home. She slept on both flights and we had open seats next to us too!

Friday, April 10, 2009 (20 months and 4 weeks)

Little bit behind on my blog, but we were really busy before we left for our trip to NY and Puerto Rico. It is the start of Chloe's friends turning 2. We had two birthday parties to go to in one day. Chloe had so much fun, especially eating cake! She has learned to sing the entire "Happy Birthday" song very well!











We went to the flower fields in Carlsbad with our friends and took some great pictures.


We had a teddy bear picnic at the park with some friends. It was a beautiful day to be outside. We made bear hats, brought our teddy bears, read stories, ate bear snacks, and played!

Finally, we volunteered at the Veteran's Home and I organized an Easter Egg hunt and craft for the kids. They had so much fun and the seniors really enjoyed having the kids there.

20 months and 3 weeks old

We survived 3 Easter Egg hunts this week! We had egg hunts in 2 of our classes and then at our friend's house this week. Chloe was very hilarious during the first egg hunt. She opened every egg that she picked up, and when she found something good- a Kit Kat bar, she took off running (because she knew I was going to take it away from her). I will put up a video soon, but here are some pictures at our Easter egg hunts.

Chloe has been counting a lot lately. She can count up to 11, but then she starts over at 8, 9, 10, 11 again. She also learned to name all of the colors of the rainbow. She still loves to sing songs.
