19 weeks old/ Happy Thanksgiving!

Chloe has been sleeping well this week and is back to her old schedule of sleeping 8pm-6am at night. She has been eating the rice cereal for a week now and I think it is helping her to sleep a little better at night. We had a busy fun week. We went to the zoo one day and went over our friend Tara's on Wednesday and Chloe tried out her swing (pictured). She loved the swing and giggled the whole time. She also loves to be tickled and giggles. It is so cute! Chloe is more interested in toys this week and that seems to keep her busy for awhile. Thursday we went over to Andy and Nicole's for Thanksgiving and had a delicious meal! (Here is our little family photo). Time to start Christmas shopping-we'll be home for Christmas in a few weeks!

18 weeks old/ 4 months

My little baby is growing up! As you can see from the pictures, she starting eating some rice cereal today for the first time. Chloe has been doing well breastfeeding for the past four months, but ever since our doctor told us it was okay to start her on rice cereal this week, I have been noticing her cues that it is actually time for her to start eating food against my strong desire to wait until 6 months old. She opens her mouth when we are eating and she tries to grab food in front of us. She has also been very fussy at the end of the day and seems like she is extra hungry. Today I decided we would try the rice cereal during dinner time. I have been holding out on starting solids because I plan to make most of my own organic baby food which takes a lot of time to plan and research. (Who would have thought it would be so difficult to feed a little baby?) . I was hoping to start after the new year when she is 6 months and after our trip to NY. Chloe seemed to really enjoy the rice cereal which was mostly watered down with breastmilk. I plan on sticking to the rice cereal for awhile and then I will introduce some new solids like veggies and fruits. I gladly welcome any advice or comments on this issue:) The other good news is that she is finally getting back to sleeping without waking up at night! I have moved her into her crib for nap times during the day and she sleeps better than if I leave her in the living room. Mommy is much happier now that I am getting sleep!

4 Months Old!

Chloe is now 4 months old today. I brought her to the doctor today to have a rash looked at on the back of her legs which turned out to be eczema. The doctor prescribed some cream to use and it should clear up soon-nothing to worry about. She weighs 13 lb 7oz and is the 75th percentile for her weight and she is measuring 24.25 inches and is in the 50th percentile for her height. She also had her four month old shots today (it's harder on mommy than Chloe) and she handled it well. The doctor said that we could start rice cereal if we want, but I think I am still going to wait a little longer, maybe until she is 6 months old.

17 weeks old/3 months

Chloe is finally big enough to sit in her Baby Einstein exosaucer (here is a picture of her in it). We went to the zoo a few times this week and went to a sign language story time on Thursday. Friday we went to her Mommy and Me class (we painted a Thanksgiving placemat with her hand and footprints) and then went to check out My Gym. The class was great, they sing songs and do baby exercise, do bubbles, play, climb, and swing! I will probably sign up for it after the holidays. Chloe is very vocal this week, especially when she is playing-it's very cute! Her sleep patterns are a little messed up because of the time change, so hopefully she will adjust next week.

16 weeks old/3 months

Chloe and I had a pretty busy week after our trip to Phoenix last week. We went to an indoor playground on Monday with a mom's group, went to hang out at the bookstore on Tuesday, and Wednesday was our big Halloween celebration! On Thursday Chloe got a little cold with a runny nose, but we had the doctor check her out and they said it was normal for her age to get a cold. It has actually cleared up today. The doctor weighed her again and she is 13 lb 7oz (with clothes on). The last 2 nights were rough since she was up many times during the night because she wasn't feeling well. Hopefully, she will go back to her normal schedule this week. Today we had our Halloween celebration in our Mommy and Me class and all the babies wore their cute little Halloween costumes, and later I met some other mom friends at Java Mama (a kid friendly coffee shop). I am hoping that we will get some rest this weekend.
