2 Weeks Old

Chloe is really starting to fill out. She seems like she is eating all the time! She is also starting to hold her head up and if she is laying on her tummy she can move her head from one side to the other. This week my parents have been here to visit and meet their new grandchild. Chloe just loves her Grammie and Poppy! We have been taking her on little outings this week. She went to see the ocean for the first time. We have been pretty lucky so far because she seems to be getting on a schedule and she does great at night. During the day she stays awake for most of the day and takes lots of little naps and at night she wakes up to eat and get changed and she goes right back to sleep. Luckily, I have been getting a good amount of sleep.

1 Week Old

When we left the hospital on Sunday she had lost about 11 oz and normally babies lose about 10% of their birth weight at first, so they were a little concerned that she wasn't getting enough to eat. They thought I should supplement with formula, but I want to only give her breast milk, so we were able to rent a pump from the hospital for a month. She is doing much better with the breastfeeding. At her first check up on Monday, she was back up to 7lb 6oz, but she was looking a little jaundice. At her follow up appointment she was 7lb 11 oz, so the doctor told us that she was looking great! We had a lactation appointment on Thursday to assist with breastfeeding and she did very well. She is now eating about 8-9 times a day. Matt and I adjusting very well to having a new baby. I still can't believe that I am a parent. I must admit that it was difficult the first few nights, but we are getting the hang of it. Matt has been taking good care of both myself and the baby. I feel great from surgery(I lost 25 pounds already!) and we have been trying to get out of the house for walks when we can. On Saturday night Chloe's grandparents will be coming for 10 days!

Her Birthday 7-13-07

We are so happy to have Chloe here! Chloe was born on Friday the 13th at 1:35 am and weighed 7lb 14oz. After 2 hours of pushing with no medication,Chloe was born by emergency c-section. She is a healthy girl with a good set of lungs.
