23 months and 2 weeks

Chloe went to her first Elmo Live show this week. She really enjoyed watching her favorite characters dance and sing and of course stuffing her face with popcorn.

We went camping again this weekend in Cuyamaca State park about an hour from San Diego. It was so hot this weekend, but our campsite was short distance away from a nice stream to cool off in. A few of our friends came too and the kids had a great time playing and eating s'mores. Chloe has a hard time going to sleep in the tent, but once she falls asleep she sleeps well. We plan to go camping a few more times this summer.

Chloe is talking so clearly and comes up funny little phrases to say such as "Mama Mia", "Oh my goodness", "How cute", "Look at me", and some others. Can't believe she will be 2 in just a few weeks. She is very excited for her birthday...she has been looking forward to it since about May. She knows her birthdate is July 13th and that she will be 2 and she sings Happy Birthday to herself. We are planning a little beach party this year with her friends.

23 months and 1 week

Finally settled in back home in San Diego. Before we left Rochester, we took a little trip to Ontario Beach State Park and Chloe opened some early birthday presents from her Nana and Papa. She loves her new talking doll who she calls "Dolly". She is never usually attached to any one doll or stuffed animal, but she can't go anywhere without "Dolly". Our trip home went very well...very nice helpful people sitting next to me. The highlight of our week was our tour of the fire station nearby. The kids had such a fun time seeing the fire trucks and getting fire hats. This weekend we were hoping for camping for Father's Day, but everyone else seemed to have the same idea. We went for a nice hike one day and then went to a park for Father's Day.

We are wrapping up our trip in Rochester this week. We got to visit with our families and take Chloe on a few day trips this week. We went for a hike near the zoo, met some friends in NYC for a Mets game, went to the Genesee Country Museum, Seabreeze amusement park, and the zoo. Our vacation went by too fast, but Chloe will be glad to get back on schedule again!

22 months and 3 weeks

We are having a great time in Rochester, NY this week! Chloe and I flew in on Tuesday afternoon. This is the last time we don't have to pay for a seat on the plane for Chloe. I was lucky to get an empty seat next to me on each flight this time. She did really well on the flight, but didn't sleep at all. Unfortunately, we had a really cranky old man next to us on one flight that didn't appreciate having a toddler in the same row as him and was very rude to me. Luckily, he moved towards the end of the flight and I got a whole row of seats to myself.

Since we have been here, we have been visiting with all of Chloe's grandparents and cousins. One day we took her to Springdale farm to see the animals. Another day she got to walk around the mall and visit the kittens at Lollypop farm. We went to a picnic for our friends Nicole and Eric at Hamlin Beach and she had a great time socializing with my friends and the other kids. Matt joined us here Saturday for the wedding and will be staying for a week with us.
