Happy New Year! We have been keeping the kids busy with activities during the winter. Chloe finished up her ice skating lessons this month, she is still taking ballet and gymnastics. James continues to attend his Mommy and Me class. He is at the age where he is more interactive. He loves his toys and rolling across the living room floor. He is very strong and is lifting his tummy off the ground. He pushes himself backwards on his tummy so it won't be long before he is crawling. At 4.5 months, he is sitting up by himself. He is sleeping in his crib most of the night, but still likes to sleep with me in the middle of the night. He had is check up this month and he weighs 15 lb 1 oz, 24.25 inches. His doctor says he is in the 30th percentile for weight and 10th percentile for height so he is a small little guy, but continues to grow. I am still nursing him, but he might be ready for some baby food soon. We took James swimming for the first time and he really loved it! Hopefully we will try to take him to swim classes when he is a little older. Chloe is quite the character as always. She loves playing with James and brings him toys to play with, talks to him, sings to him, and teaches him sign language. She is really interested in reading words and she knows all of the sounds of the letters and is starting to sound out words. She is always quizzing me about what different words start with or how to spell different words. She can read some basic words by herself (cat, hat, etc...), knows how to spell a handful of words (her first and last name, mom, dad, James, etc.) and memorizes parts of stories to read to me (Green Eggs and Ham and Hop on Pop are some of her favorites). She has stopped taking naps for me in the afternoon which is difficult for me with the two kids.
