22 months and 2 weeks

Chloe was glad to get back to classes and see her friends this week. She had a playdate with her friend Allen and they are two little goofballs when they get together and play. We made placemats, painted toast, and learned food signs in our Mommy and Me class this week. It was Chloe's last finger painting class, but we are going to sign her up for a few new classes this summer. We are going to put her in soccer, ballet, and maybe another art class. This weekend we went to Victoria's Garden, a working farm that has pony rides, petting zoo, and lots of activities for kids. Chloe had a blast! We are looking forward to our trip to Rochester this coming week!

22 months and 1 week (Friday, May 22, 2009)

We took a nice trip to the zoo this week on a signing tour (we learned the sign language for the animals) . Chloe made friends with the goats and had fun sharing snacks with her friend Christian. She also had a fun time painting in her art class. This weekend was the first time just I was able to get away by myself, so Matt and Chloe had a fun time going to the park, swimming, and riding their bikes around while I was in Las Vegas with Kari for Memorial Day weekend.

22 months old

Chloe turned 22 months this week and I can't believe she will be turning 2 in just a few months! We started a new Mommy and Me signing class this week with a lot of her friends. She continues to take her painting class and she loves it. She paints 3-4 pictures each time. We went to Sea World again(we bought the season pass) so we got to see some new things this week, but the highlight of the day was meeting Elmo and Zoe, her absolute favorite Sesame Street characters! While she was trying to pet the stingrays, one came right by her and splashed her in the face and soaked her. Chloe didn't think it was too funny though:) We started swimming again in our own pool since the weather has been very nice and the pool is a little warmer. Matt had a half day on Friday, so we picked him up, got some lunch, went to the park, and then Chloe helped us wash the car went we got home. He rode his bicycle 30 miles to work on Friday since it was "Bike to Work Day" in San Diego!

I am impressed with Chloe's memory lately. She will talk about something that happened awhile ago and ask questions to make connections to what is going on in the present. She also asks me questions, but then answers her own question herself since she already knows the answer, like "Mommy, what's Daddy doing? He's working". I guess it is better than answering the same question over and over again.

21 months and 4 weeks

Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there! I got to sleep in this morning and didn't have to cook all day long. I had a great day with Chloe and Matt at the beach. It was a beautiful 73 degree day here. We ate lunch, relaxed, Matt built a giant sand castle with Chloe, and they went in the ocean.
Our mother's/father's day present to each other is the Wii (game system) which has the Wii Fit to get us both in shape. It has yoga, step aerobics, balancing games, and strength training.

We prepared for mother's day this week by painting flowerpots for our moms and painting pictures and cards. We had a few classes this week but we also got to hang out with some good friends too. Thursday we a fun day at Sea World with Nicole, Alissa, and Nathan. She loves the Bay of Play area since they have Seasame Street characters everywhere! Zoe, Elmo, and Abby are her favorites. Chloe went on 2 rides, saw a Shamu show, and saw sharks, polar bears, and penguins.

Chloe loves to jump, especially on the trampoline at My Gym. She is very cuddly with us this week, just gives us kisses randomly, and tells us "I love you". She just got her bottom set of 2nd year molars, so only 2 more teeth to go and she will have them all! Her favorite thing to say is "Chloe do it!", when she wants to wash herself, dress herself, feed herself, push the stroller, etc. She also likes to ask randomly what people that she knows are doing. She'll say, "Mommy, what's Joe (Uncle Joe) doing?", "Where's Nana and Papa?" She will keep asking until she gets an answer she likes.

May Camping Trip

We spent my 29th birthday camping at the La Jolla Indian Reservation about an hour from our house. It was such a fun weekend camping with our friends Nicole, Andy, Alissa, and Nathan because they really made my birthday special! This was our second time taking Chloe camping, the last time she wasn't walking yet. This time was so much more relaxing, especially since Chloe and Alissa were best buddies for the weekend. The explored the campground together, jumped on the beds, and sat around the campfire with us. We had a great campsite right on the river with a lot privacy. We roasted hotdogs, had some birthday cake, and toasted s'mores. Sleeping was very comfortable (but we do need to replace our air mattress since it completely deflated). We are definitely going again soon!

21 months and 3 weeks

We have had a fun busy week! We joined My Gym again for the next month to keep Chloe busy. She learned to stand on one foot in class. We went to the park in our Mommy and Me class for class pictures, and my friend Norma got a few of these great shots of Chloe and her buddy Christian. They are so cute together! Wednesday we went to a puppet show, "The Princess and the Pea" with marionettes. Later that day we went to the train museum to play and look at the model trains with her friends. She loves trains so much that we are considering getting her a train table for the living room. Chloe is just so fun and lovable to have around, but as she gets closer to 2 she throws terrible tantrums when she doesn't get her way. I know the fun is just beginning!

21 months and 2 weeks (April 24, 2009)

We are finally settled in at home this week. Chloe started a new finger painting class through the Rec Center. She loves it because she gets to use the easel. She also really missed her cat Caro while we were away. She likes to pet her and give her kisses. We took a field trip to the Chula Vista Nature Center with some friends to see the fish, sharks, stingrays, and birds. The kids had a great time!

Chloe went poopy on the potty this week and was very proud of herself! She still loves to sing songs and I am amazed at how well she knows the complete song. Her favorites are Happy Birthday, ABC song, Twinkle, Twinkle, Itsy Bitsy Spider, No more monkeys jumping on the bed, Colors of the Rainbow, Frère Jacques, The Night Night Song, and many others. She never stops talking either. She sits with her doll house and the people and makes up stories about what is going on. It is so cute to watch her talk to herself. Also, her new thing that she started recently is asking "Why?" all the time. I am still thankful for her 3 hour naps each day to get a little break:)
