7 Weeks Old

How can you not love that face? We are having so much fun this week! I finally am trying to get out of the house with Chloe and meet some new moms in my area. This week we went to the park with some friends. We took a stroller exercise class on Tuesday at the mall (it was a great workout for me!) and we went to story time at Barnes and Noble. Wednesday we stayed inside all day in the air conditioning because it was in the 90's here. Thursday we went for a walk and then went for ice cream and met a bunch of other moms with kids her age. Today we are going to walk around the mall where it is cool! I have signed Chloe up for a Mommy and Me class next week after she gets her immunizations. It is a class that meets every Friday for 3 hours and we will sing, read stories, dance, and I will meet other parents. There is another class that meets on Mondays and Wednesdays that I might sign up for at the college near our house that teaches baby sign language and baby massage. Finally, I found a baby and me yoga class that I also might check out with her. As you can see, we are keeping busy! I think Chloe was going through a growth spurt this week because she wanted to eat all of the time. She is enjoying playing with toys more and she loves when I read her stories.

6 Weeks Old

Chloe is growing everyday! Look at her chubby little cheeks and arms! This week she is smiling a little more and making more cooing noises. She has more control of her neck too. She loves playing with her toys and she kicks her arms and legs and tries to grab them. Chloe loves to stare at our faces (and the ceiling fan). Matt and I still try to take her for walks at night when it is cooler. This past weekend we went for a walk along the beach, but we went during high tide so Matt had to carry the stroller through some parts.

5 Weeks Old

Nothing really new this week to report with Chloe. She is still a very happy baby-eating and sleeping well! Matt and I are going to take her up to Solana Beach this weekend for a walk. It has been so hot this week!

1 Month Old

Chloe is 1 Month Old today!

4 Weeks Old

Kari came to visit us last weekend to meet Chloe for the first time. Chloe is getting on a good routine this week after all of our company has left. It seems like every other day Chloe will want to eat all day every 1-2 hours during the daytime and then the next day she will want to sleep all day. Luckily, she is still sleeping great during the night. I will usually put her to bed around 10 pm and she will eat around 2am, 6 am, and then 9 am. She doesn't fuss at all when she gets up in the middle of the night. I will change her diaper after she eats and she falls right back to sleep. This week I have been trying to give her a lot of tummy time and she can lift her head for a longer period of time. She is even smiling more now at me (and not just while she sleeps). It is so much fun to watch her grow every day.

3 Weeks Old

My parents left on Monday night. It was so great to have them here for the week, and Chloe misses them already. Tuesday was my first day alone with Chloe. It was hard to adjust from having everyone around to help cook, clean, and hold the baby. At first Chloe wanted to be held all of the time and it was difficult to put her down, but now she is doing much better and sleeping more during the day. She seems to eat almost every 1-2 hours during the day and at night it is more like every 3-4 hours. Today was her 3 week doctor's appointment and she weighs 9 lbs 1 oz! I can't believe how big she is getting already. She is still doing really great, but this week she has had a little diaper rash, but the doctor didn't think it was anything to worry about. I am so happy to have a healthy little girl! During the day I try to get out of the house to go for a walk and then Matt takes her on walks at night. This weekend Kari is going to come to visit!

2 Weeks Old

Chloe is really starting to fill out. She seems like she is eating all the time! She is also starting to hold her head up and if she is laying on her tummy she can move her head from one side to the other. This week my parents have been here to visit and meet their new grandchild. Chloe just loves her Grammie and Poppy! We have been taking her on little outings this week. She went to see the ocean for the first time. We have been pretty lucky so far because she seems to be getting on a schedule and she does great at night. During the day she stays awake for most of the day and takes lots of little naps and at night she wakes up to eat and get changed and she goes right back to sleep. Luckily, I have been getting a good amount of sleep.
